Michelin Man Reminds Us About Tire Safety
Gearing up for a road trip in your Lexus this summer? Our friends at Michelin want to take time to remind you that it’s National Tire Safety Week! So before you hit the road, please take time, right now, to check on your tires.
Most people don’t spend enough time checking on their tires. But they’re the most important safety feature of the vehicle! Checking things like tire pressure and tread life are important in improving the mileage of your car, as well as the overall safety and control of the vehicle.
The Michelin Man is Michelin’s fearless leader. You’ll see him at race tracks across the country all summer long, hanging out with kids, and promoting the importance of tire safety. What a great idea having a mascot made out of tires, but, the loveable tire guy wasn’t always so cool.
It’s true. Back in the day, the Michelin Man was pretty scary. In fact, early costumes, like the one in the photo above, resembled a mummy more than a guy made out of tires. He would appear in your nightmares, not your dreams.
Now that he’s cuddly again, check out BeTireSmart.org for helpful tips and non-scary images of the Michelin Man!
