Max Orido Stuffs Lexus V8 into Toyota 86

D1 Drift Hero Manabu Orido’s got a new car. It’s an FT-86, but without Subie’s 2L boxer motor. Instead, the 5L V8 from the IS-F sits nested low between the front wheels of the sports coupe.

Light weight. Tons of power. Only one thing left to do.

Orido’s frankenstein also sounds awesome. Oddly, it doesn’t burble and rumble like a Corvette or Mustang. It’s more mechanical, more tightly wound… like an RC car. Perhaps more importantly for drifting though, it looks and sounds like a responsive motor. As Manabu goes to show us in this video it also looks like a blast to drive.

A match made in heaven! Let us know what you think in the forums!
