Since the ES is Lexus best selling luxury sedan, there have always been rumors of Lexus building the ES stateside. According to Ward’s Auto and their recent interview with Tim Morrison, Lexus Vice President of Sales and Dealer Development, the dealers have lobbied for an ES to be built in North America to battle the harsh US Dollar to Yen exchange rate.

Of course with any kind of move, it will take a large investment and strategic planning to work. As we know, the best selling luxury utility crossover RX has been built in Japan and also in Canada for nearly 10 years now. The new ES shares its new underpinnings with the newest generation Avalon. It would make perfect sense to build new ES alongside Avalon in Kentucky. The biggest question is where and when?

Would it make sense to build the best selling Lexus sedan in North America? Lets talk about it! >>
