Luxury Auto Maker Looks to Service Female Car Buyers With New Trim LineMarch 31, 2009 – Torrance, CA   – With the downturn in the economy, usually quiet sources deep inside the folds of the Lexus Marketing department have been downright chatty.  They’re anxious to get the word out about their latest trim line.  The luxury Japanese marquee aims to please their women buyers with the new ‘G-Sport’ lineup, across the GS and LS lines.

The unidentified source said "male purchasers currently dominate the GS
and LS models, and we’re absolutely taking aim at the unfulfilled needs
of female buyers in the 35 – 50 age range".   The marketing rep claimed
these women were often affluent and single ‘cougars’ who would want to
exhibit a more youthful and sexy attitude.

"We’re going to have special G-Sport badging on the cars, but it will be very
inconspicuous.   Male buyers will have an extremely difficult time
spotting it, but they’ll certainly notice the larger custom wheels and
a bit of extra bling on the badging".

Asked whether the G-Sport line will be available for SUVs such as the
RX, the rep responded "No, our research shows that 98% are already
bought by women and their husbands made to drive them".
