Lexus Returns to Milan Design Week in a Beam of Light
For the 12th time in Milan, Italy, Lexus brings Rhizomatiks, six finalists to celebrate all things design.
Over the course of three decades, Lexus has continued to step up its design game, going from the conservative looks of the original ES, to the aggressive style of the 2019 LC 500. Thus, it only makes sense that an esteemed event like the annual Milan Design Week in the design capital of Italy, Milan, would send an invite to our favorite Japanese luxury brand.
This week, Lexus announced it would return to Milan for a 12th time, and that it would not be stepping off the plane alone.
Teaming up with Japanese design collective Rhizomatiks for the second time in five years, Lexus will unveil its installation, Leading With Light, at the 2019 edition of Milan Design Week from April 8 through 14. The installation is “an immersive display that combines playful and dynamic lighting with advanced robotics,” where guests will see how light can be used to affect emotions.
In addition to the visual light installation, Lexus will host the six finalists of its seventh edition of the Lexus Design Awards, with the winning designer chosen by “a jury of world-renowned design leaders” before the press on April 8. All six will have their designs on display during Milan Design Week.
