Lexus Re-Ups NYFW Sponsorship
Lexus-NYFW Partnership Continues to Produce Amazing Lexus One-Offs
Cars and fashion may seem like an odd pairing at first. But for automobiles as impeccably designed as those made by Lexus, there’s an obvious connection. Simply put, a Lexus is always in fashion.
To drive that point home, Lexus is re-upping its sponsorship of New York Fashion Week: The Shows through February 2019, according to fashion bible WWD. Our favorite marque has sponsored the annual celebration since 2015. And it seems like every year, the one-off Lexus models designed in the spirit of haute-couture get ever-more amazing.
This year, Lexus wowed the crowds and commuters at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal with their LIT IS (pictured above). To “show a signal” about who they are, Lexus equipped the new 2017 Lexus IS with 41,999 LED lights. Apparently they couldn’t fit one more LED on there to make a round number. But they somehow figured out how to program the lights with groovy designs that react to music and motion.

Besides the LIT IS, Lexus also delivered a fleet of 50 courtesy vehicles for important NYFW folk — designers, models, retailers… you know, fashionistas. It certainly can’t hurt to show so many fashion industry people why Lexus fits right into the scene.

Furthermore, ten of those fleet vehicles include personal touches from NYFW designers Nicole Miller, Jeremy Scott, TOME and Zang Toi. Each car was wrapped in custom prints that correspond to the designers’ Fall/Winter 2017 collections.

NYFW has always brought out the best in Lexus. Perhaps that comes from trying to wow so many daring, risk takers. Regardless of why though, we’re just happy that we get four more years of crazy fashion-forward Lexus models to gawk at. And the runway models aren’t bad either.
