Lexus NX Best November Ever: Sales Report
In this case, Lexus is hoping the family resemblance will help the NX sell like the RX, the best-selling luxury SUV ever.
Buying new is popular right now, and it’s easy to see why. With so many new models, and more on the way, Lexus and parent company Toyota are on a roll. The automaker reported 191,617 units sold in November, with Lexus responsible for 27,118 of that.
Jeff Bracken, Lexus Group vice president and general manager, said: “Our redesigned NX is proving to be a very popular choice for our customers, and by February 2018, shoppers will see four additional models to our Lexus line-up: an RX L 3-row, an RX L hybrid 3-row, an LX 2- row, and a very limited edition Inspiration Series LC 500.” Though 2017 has been a strong year, 2018 looks to give it a run for the “best-ever” title.
The Lexus NX, redesigned for 2018, claimed a 9th straight month of best-ever sales numbers. This month it sold 5,404 units. The Toyota RAV4, which shares a platform with the NX, also posted a best-ever month, selling an impressive 28,736 examples. The RAV4’s great November marked the 11th consecutive month-for-month best-ever sales figures to date.
For the second time this year, the Lexus RX broke the 5 figure mark, selling 10,102 units. Along with August, which accounted for 10,391 units, November was a strong month. The Lexus RX, which has been on sale since 1999, is easily the most important vehicle for the Lexus brand. It’s also allegedly the best-selling luxury SUV ever made with more than a million sold in the last 10 years alone.
‘Our redesigned NX is proving to be a very popular choice for our customers, and by February 2018, shoppers will see four additional models to our Lexus line-up.’
The Lexus GX, the model positioned between the two-row RX and big-boy LX, also posted gains of 5.4 percent in November. That’s the Lexus way of reporting a sales increase from 2,090 to 2,432 units, which sounds slightly less impressive.
Toyota likewise had some wins this month, with the RAV4, 4Runner, and Camry all posting their best November numbers ever. The Tacoma and Tundra both saw gains of 4 and 1.3 percent, respectively.
