Lexus Named Official Vehicle of New Motor Sport Facility
Lexus partners with APEX Motor Club’s stunning new country club-style track facility in Maricopa, AZ.
When the Lexus brand was launched by Toyota back in 1989 its mission was to design and manufacture luxury cars that could compete with the best of the European automakers. Companies like BMW and Mercedes were squarely in Lexus’ cross hairs. Fast forward some 30 years and times have changed. While Lexus still produces incredible luxury cars it has also become synonymous with serious performance machines that are just at home tearing up a backroad as they are doing hot laps around a race track. That’s in large part thanks to the models like the LF-A supercar and F Sport line of vehicles. Lexus’ evolution into a maker of fast performance cars makes it all the more appropriate that the brand was recently named the Official Vehicle of APEX Motor Club.
Located 35 miles southwest of the Phoenix, AZ metro area in Maricopa, the APEX facility is the latest high end motorsports country club of it’s kind in the U.S. The club joins an exclusive group that includes place like Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Las Vegas, NV and The Monticello Motor Club outside of New York, NY. While Lexus luxury cars are a common sight on the streets of nearby upscale Scottsdale, AZ, APEX and Lexus are predicting that the brand will be just as popular for hooning hot laps at the new racetrack. “We couldn’t be more thrilled with the alignment between APEX and Lexus,” said Matt Williams, the Managing Partner of APEX. “The Lexus brand understands the unique opportunity that we offer enthusiasts as well as the value of incredible experiences.” As part of Lexus being named Official Vehicle of APEX Motor Club the facility will offer RC F and GS F models for track use as well as Lexus signage throughout the facility.
The APEX facility is definitely shaping up to be world class. “Phase 1” officially opened in April 2019 and features niceties including a clubhouse and privately owned garages to store your prized vehicle. Most importantly though is the 2.27-mile track that boasts a track surface designed to be as smooth as possible. The track also offers generous run-off areas to ensure a safe track experience. Construction on the 2.25-mile “Phase 2” circuit begins this year and will also add a full service maintenance center and fueling station. Eventually APEX will also have a swimming pool, go-kart track as well as a restaurant and a bar. Famous founding members of APEX include racecar drivers Paul Tracy and Arie Luyendyk as well as Craig Jackson, co-founder of Barrett-Jackson.
