2019 Lexus LS 500 Hybrid is a ‘Top Notch Sedan,’ says Roseville Today
After reviewing the gas-powered LS 500 last year, automotive reviewer compares the finer aspects of the hybrid model and is duly impressed.
“There’s practically no chance of feeling uncomfortable in the stylish LS 500 cabin,” writes automotive journalist Jeffrey Weidel of Roseville Today in his new review of the latest version of the Lexus LS. Weidel shares his driving experience and compares the hybrid version to his test-drive of the gas-powered LS that he reviewed last year. And he seems equally impressed.
After all, what’s not to love about the fast and sporty Lexus LS 500, which sprints from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds and can achieve a top-speed of 136 mph?
“We found the LS500 exhilarating to drive on the open road,” says Weidel. “[It] provides a very smooth, effortless ride that is quiet and serene at all speeds. We were also impressed by the handling in any driving situation. Depending on the mood, having the option of driving in Eco, Comfort or Sport drive modes is a nice touch by Lexus.”
Some automotive commentators have criticized the design of the front fascia of the Lexus LS. However, according to Weidel, the LS is a handsome vehicle. “Weighing more than 5,000 pounds, the LS 500 features rather dramatically angled front headlights and the signature large spindle front grille. The styling also includes some sharp side angles and curvy areas, giving it an overall handsome appearance.”
The prolific auto critic also praises the interior of the LS, which has 16-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats that also include an optional massage function. He is especially won over by the pregrossive technological offerings found inside of the hybrid LS.
“There’s a high-tech feel that comes with the LS 500 interior,” says Weidel in his Roseville Today Lexus review. “The technology includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, Lexus Enform smartphone app integration, a 12.3-inch color display, and navigation system.”
However, when it comes to the soundsystem, he is not as impressed. “Music lovers can pass on the standard 12-speaker audio system and go with the 23-speaker, Mark Levinson sound system,” suggests Weidel, loosely criticizing the sedan’s infotainment system. “The touchpad will be challenging for some drivers and can be a distraction due to its complexity,” he adds.
“The overall improvements should make the new 2019 Lexus LS 500 or hybrid a tempting buy for luxury car shoppers,” he concludes, and we couldn’t agree more.
