REVIEW RECAP: Obsessing Over the Lexus LC 500 (Video)
Take an in-depth, virtual walkaround of the new coupe.
By now, you’ve undoubtedly read everything there is to read about the stunning Lexus LC 500. You’ve probably lusted over every dramatic line and dreamed of owning one. But until now, we haven’t really had a good visual of how everything works. You know, a proper walkaround video. But now we can really imagine ourselves virtually checking out our new ride thanks to Lexus of Edmonton.
Sadly, you can’t buy this white beauty just yet. The dealership was able to borrow the car for one day and get a preview ahead of the LC’s debut. And while it still isn’t quite the same as seeing the grand tourer in the flesh, there are some cool details pointed out in the video you might have missed in mere pictures.
Details like those carbon fiber enhanced door sill plates. Or the beautifully stitched Alcantara and leather seats. Or the oft used (right?) snow mode on the traction control stalk. The LFA inspired instrument panel is a true work of art in motion as well. We’d probably leave on the “rear wing position” mode most of the time, however.
Another nice touch comes from the changes to the rev counter display as you cycle through the driving modes. Sport S+, in particular, has a nicely aggressive look to it. The overall user interface looks clean, well thought out, and easy to navigate. Because this car is about driving, and driving comfort. Not searching endlessly through menus just trying to simply turn the radio volume down.
Those are just a few of the many little features on the Lexus LC that make it a special car. As we’ve come to expect from Lexus, they’ve obviously put a tremendous amount of time and effort into their new halo car. Now we just need to drive one.
