So Cal Lexus Brings Happy Holidays to Kids
Southern Californians Rally Together with Spark of Love to Give Local Kids a Happy Holiday at Lexus Mega Meet
There’s nothing better than a good car show — that is, of course, unless that car show is in support of a good cause. That’s exactly what happened last weekend in Ontario, California. Local performance shop Meraki Autoworks organized the event to be a sendoff for the 2016 show season and to collect toys for the Spark of Love Toy Drive.
Lexuses old and new showed up in droves, and even a few classic Toyotas were in attendance. The crowd of cars was fairly diverse for a one-make show. But the order of the day was clear: low and lean, with loads of carbon fiber and the nicest rolling stock money can buy. Check out the photos below, shot by prolific Instagram auto photographer Aye-Bird.
Spark of Love was started nearly a quarter of a century ago by a group of Long Beach firefighters. The charitable organization has worked hard to make the holidays special for underprivileged children in five Southern California counties. They include Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Ventura and Riverside. In that time, Spark of Love managed to donate over nine million toys. And Lexus enthusiasts certainly did their part to help this weekend.
Local dealership Crown Lexus was kind enough to lend their 10-acre lot for the event, which had a large turn out. But this wasn’t your standard “Cars & Coffee” type deal. When Club Lexus members do something, they go all the way!
