Lexus Builds: Upgrading an LS 460 L from Sunday Driver to Luxury VIP
Previously a Sunday driver for a church-goin’ grandpa, Club Lexus member built his LS 460 L into a luxury cruiser ready for Miami clubs.
The LS 460 L was the perfect flagship for those needing more legroom between meetings. Of course, that meant hiring someone else to drive the luxury sedan. However, you didn’t buy an L to drive, but to do business in the backseat, legs fully stretched out for maximum comfort while making those power moves away from the boardroom.
Club Lexus member Wringo made a power move of his own way back in May of 2014, obtaining a 2007 LS 460 L. He’s made a few more moves since then. Let’s see what he got into, shall we?
“It’s been an exciting few weeks as well as e few sleepless nights, but I think we can finally call her our own?” Wringo said back in 2014. “To make a long story short, I kept the GS for now and pulled the trigger and found a 2007 (48,000 miles) Black/Grey LS 460 L w/ Executive Package and rear DVD Entertainment option. This car had one owner from Tallahassee, Florida, and was a Sunday-driven church car for a elderly male.”
After sorting a few issues out at the local Lexus dealer, Wringo revealed his plans for the LS 460 L, including a body kit and wheels, plus lowering the ride. The result would be something befitting a Miami nightclub instead of a church parking lot. Though he planned to start modding in 2015, there would be a long wait to start the process.
“Work has has begun with the kit and fitment!,” Wringo wrote in June of 2017. “Looking forward to the updates and seeing this all come to reality. Stay Tuned for more progress pics as the build progress. Was looking to get an overall repsray, but car really doesn’t need it after careful consideration to save time and money.”
The nose would receive a Wald grille, while the corners gained a full set of Individ wheels (built by Club Lexus member and Individ founder, SocalSC4). A carbon-fiber rear spoiler, new fenders up front, and side skirts would complete the rest of the build.
Six years have gone by since this LS 460 L landed in Wringo’s home. Today, it’s the subtle build he could ever hope for. Where will he go from here? Follow the thread for possible updates.
