LC 500 Inspiration Series Coming to Australia

LC 500 Inspiration Series carries over an identical powerplant, but unique interior.

The Lexus LC 500 is arguably the boldest vehicle Lexus has ever attempted. Nearly identical to its conceptual infancy, the LC 500 is certainly special. The new LC 500 Inspiration Series, however, is even more unique.

And while not exactly impossible to come by, Auto Evolution reports that “fewer than 10 units” are heading to Australia.

The Inspiration Series‘ interior features contrasting colors and a simple, yet elegant balance of materials. It carries over several key features of the standard LC 500. 12-way power seats, Alcantara door panels, and ventilated seats remain. A 10.3-inch display, satellite navigation, voice control, and DAB+ radio are standard as well and pair well with the Mark Levinson premium audio system.

Also, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now standard equipment in the LC 500. For those of you living in Australia, prior model LCs can be upgraded for $249 (AUD) with a simple software update at the dealer, says Auto Evolution.

Khaki Metallic, Graphite Black, and Titanium are the lone color options, but boy do they look fantastic. The LC 500 Inspiration Series incorporates an overabundance of luxury features for a sports car. Color HUD, Lexus Safety System+, glass roof, 21″ forged wheels, LED head and taillights, and magnesium paddle shifters are all welcome additions. That’s a mouthful of features. But, the LC 500 is a loaded beast after all.

Lastly, the mechanical specs for the Inspiration Series are identical to the base LC 500. The vehicle houses a 5.0L V8 capable of 471 hp. With torque ratings of 398 lb-ft, the LC gets to 60 mph in a brisk 4.4 seconds. In the hybrid model, we see a 354 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque via a 3.5L V6 paired to two electric motors.

The Inspiration Series LC 500 will not be common, but it will be pretty. With less than 10 coming to Australia, it’ll certainly be a status symbol purchase. Maybe we’ll get croc-leather in next year’s release.
