Japan Brings Super GT to the Street via Custom Widebody LC
Built by Artisan Spirits in Tokyo, all-black Widebody LC 500 gains a big boost in power to go with its aggressive styling.
When it comes to Lexus and motorsport, one of the biggest venues to host such a combo is Japan’s Super GT series. There, the LC 500 sheds all of its luxury for a big boost in performance to throw down against Nissan and Honda at marvelous locations like Suzuka, Fuji, and Twin Ring Motegi.
If you were wanting such a beast for the street, though, Top Gear has the LC 500 for you, luxury included.
Built by Tokyo’s Artisan Spirits, the LC 500 is transformed into a widebody dragon with the help of carbon-reinforced plastic panels. Draped in black, the sporty Lexus bears a passing resemblance to the LFA, if the supercar had been built today.
Of course, styling is only one part of the package Artisan Spirits offers for the LC 500. The 5.0-liter V8 is bored out to 5.6-liters, providing a boost in horsepower from 470 to 518, perfect for challenging any random Mercedes-AMG GT Ss you may come across. Stopping power is boosted, too, via a bigger set of Brembos, while handling and seating are upgraded to match the Super GT vibes. And you can even get a roll cage for maximum race car points.
Artisan Spirits makes kits for nearly every Lexus made, from the ES to the UX, and yes, even the LFA. We wouldn’t mind taking this widebody LC 500 out for a spin, though.
