Jane the Virgin Star Justin Baldoni Cruises SoCal in a Lexus RC350
GQ Magazine hung out with actor and director as he talked about why Lexus is his ride of choice.
Watching this video by GQ Magazine and Lexus, you get a pretty good sense of actor and director Justin Baldoni. Probably best known for his work on Jane the Virgin, and directing the feature Five Feet Apart; Baldoni is a down-to-earth guy who loves hanging out with his family and friends, appreciates his success, and loves his sweet red Lexus RC350.
In the film, he drives his Lexus around Los Angeles and meets up with some longtime pals for a game of basketball.
“I’m 35 and I’m quite literally living a dream,” Baldoni says. “But you don’t get to chase and fulfill your dreams without a crap load of work! For five years I’ve been on a TV show, so when I do get a day off, I cherish it. I try to mix both my family with seeing my friends.”
He meets up with two close friends, and they play some hoops. Next he hops in the Lexus to meet them for a little barbecue at his pal’s house.
As for why he gravitated towards Lexus, for him the answer is simple. He is looking for something that is timeless, high-quality, and speaks to his personality.
“I think that our style should never be dictated by what’s trendy. For me it’s just about a feeling, ” Baldoni says as he drives along. “Does it feel good? Does it accentuate who I am? I really take a lot of pride in craftsmanship.”
When it comes to celebrity rides, Baldoni isn’t interested in the hype. He loves the high caliber quality and style if his Lexus.
“The first time I got in a Lexus, I just remember sitting in it and feeling comfortable,” he recalls. “I could tell it was well-made. I know it’s beautiful, and I felt good in it, which is really at the core of craftsmanship.”
He eats dinner and has a great conversation with his friends. It’s very authentic. And you sense that is just the kind of guy Baldoni is.
As he heads home in his Lexus, he leaves us with a few parting thoughts.
“I believe that time is probably our most valuable resource. Understanding that we all go through the cycle of life because you have this much time, so the question is, what are you gonna do with it?”
Enjoy a long ride a cool car? That’s definitely a good start.
