Is this the Craziest NX Body Kit Ever?

Lexus NX Kotaro Body Kit

Aftermarket outfitter’s body kit gives NX a sportier, more aggressive look, plus a face only Michael Bay could love.

Lexus’ spindle grill evokes a few thoughts and emotions. For some, it’s the Predator with its helmet off. Others see a kabuki mask made to express the right vibe Lexus had in mind for a given model. Most agree, though, that the grill is unmistakably Lexus.

Which is why this take turns up the grill’s potential for terror to Michael Bay levels of design. Behold the nightmare that is the SLC Performance Kotaro body kit for the NX.

The most striking visual of the body kit is the replacement of the stock grill with one that looks like a thousand knives ready to tear you limb from limb. Whatever NX wears this demonic face will be one no one wants to cross in a dark alley. Or in daylight.

Thus, it’s best to approach from the side. Here, the fender flares and side skirts give the NX plenty of attitude, and are a perfect fit for the rest of the kit.

From above, the hood receives a pair of scoops in the center near the windshield. We presume they work, which means the NX’s 2.0-liter turbo-four will receive a little bit of extra air conditioning from the outside.

From the other end, with the stabby grill far away from our eyes, we can see the upper and middle spoiler pulling the body kit together. It’s quite the angular affair, which brings to mind stealth fighters, like the sort that would transform into evil robots with horrifying faces.

Finally, we come to the rear of the NX, which now has a “rear brake light in F1 style” mounted in the bumper/diffuser combo. It’s neat, but it’s also the tamest bit of the Kotaro body kit package. Which might be a plus, all things considered.

In case you didn’t think this existed in real life, here is the NX Kotaro body kit in the flesh, ready to eat yours. Pleasant dreams.
