IS F Coupe & GS F: What We Know So Far
Spyshots of what appear to be the Lexus we’ve all been waiting for have spread globally yesterday. Several sources have called this camouflaged car the Lexus IS F Coupe. We’ve reported that the IS F sedan maybe on it’s way out but nothing has been confirmed if it will be replaced by a coupe or something else.
So far this is what we know:
IS F Coupe / RC F? Timeline:
- 7/2012: IS F Convertible Spotted Testing at Nürburgring
- 9/2012: LF-CC Concept Revealed at 2012 Paris Motor Show
- 11/2012: RC F & RC 350 Trademarked
- 3/2013: Future of IS F sedan uncertain
- 7/2013: More RC F Renderings Surface
- 7/2013: 2 Different “IS F Coupe” Prototypes Spied bearing temporary German license plates: DAU 0681 & DAU 0682
What we have observed about the IS F Coupe? spy shots:
- Coupe Lines are similar to LF-CC Concept, but with a wider lower profile
- Appears to be two door version of new 3rd Generation IS
- LED Projector Headlamps appear to be more seperated from the LED DRL
- Missing Foglamps
- Wider more angular Spindle Grille
- Large hood with new center hood scoop
- Wider front fenders with signature “F” side vents
- Larger rocker mouldings which kick up into the rear bumper like LF-CC and 3rd Generation IS
- Wider rear profile, more pronounced quarter panels
- Addition of LED turn signal mirrors
- 19″? version of LFA Nürburgring Package BBS Forged Aluminum Wheel
- Michelin Pilot Super Sport or PS3 Tires
- Rear taillights are borrowed from 4th Generation GS
- Signature “F” quad exhaust
- Rear Bumper is wider and appears to have side vents
- Rear Spoiler is not lip type, but appears it is moveable
- Interior similar to new 3rd Generation IS
- Yamaha sourced sparts
- Remote Touch Controller replaced with what appears to be a touchpad

- 3/2013: GS F Trademarked
- 7/2013: GS F Spied in Germany with two “IS F Coupe” Prototypes

- Nebula Gray Pearl
- Signature “F” quad tipped exhaust
- TRD Japan F SPORT Rear Valence
- TRD Japan F SPORT Rear Spoiler
- Yamaha sourced parts
