Head 2 Head: Motor Trend Pits RC F Against the M4

Since the RC F was announced, it’s been pitted against one clear rival–the BMW M4. And while we’ve heard plenty of comparison from journalists about how they stack up, this Head 2 Head is the most authoritative yet. 

Spoiler alert–in the end, Carlos Lago the victory to the BMW. That said? I think there are a lot of positives here for Lexus, not the least of which is the difference in lap times achieved by resident hot shoe Randy Probst. It’s 3/10ths of a second. 

Now, I realize that’s an eternity when you’re talking about getting your name on the Borg-Warner trophy and being relegated as the first loser of the Indianapolis 500. But do you remember that time you were 3/10ths of a second to work? Of course not. And while the reviewers had generally more positive things to saw about the feel of the BMW, I think this comparison can be seen as a real warning to BMW. 

After all, the German company has a had a huge start on Lexus in this segment, and managed to beat the RC F on the track by a few blinks of an eye in an objective test. Watch the video and see if you don’t agree.
