First Video of The Lexus Hoverboard in Action is Live!
The first video of the Lexus Hoverboard in action is out—and it looks pretty incredible. As we predicted when we saw the last teaser, it’s a total handful to ride, meaning there’s a lot of falling off in this video. Even pro skater Ross McGowan takes a few spills.
And while drops or jumps seem to make the board bottom out, from the looks of this video, it will support the weight of an actual human, which is more than plenty of people expected from the bit of trick tech. But that doesn’t mean you should try to, say, hit a handrail with it.
Of course, this video still raises some questions. Is there a weight limit? Can you ollie it? Is there a technical reason for the dry-ice type mist seeping out of the board?
[UPDATE: Yes, the magnets in the board have to be super cooled, and require a shot of liquid nitrogen approximately every ten 10 minutes.]
Or is that just to look cool? And chiefly, will Lexus ever let members of the media ride the thing? Because we’re so down.
How cool would it be to go down in history as the first hoverboard-related emergency room patient?
