ClubLexus Exclusive: North America’s First LFA Nürburgring Package*
Houston, the Nürburgring has landed! That’s right–the Western Hemisphere’s first Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package*–was delivered yesterday in Southern California!
This $70k upgrade package is more than just a name and some pretty bits–it actually has legit credentials. Lexus race driver Akira Iida piloted one around the Green Hell in a blistering 7:14.64, making it the fourth fastest car to ever make the run. This LFA isn’t just 1 of 50 Nürburgring Package cars allocated (not all 50 will be built), it’s probably the only customized and undoubtedly the most expensive LFA ever built! Half a million dollar LFA anyone?
So why the asterisk after the Nürburgring Package? Well, it’s simple. This isn’t your typical build Nürburgring Package car. Yes, it comes in one of the four standard color choices (Whitest White, Orange, Black and Matte Black) and one of the three interior color choices (Black, Red and Violet) with carbon fiber interior door trim and center console trim. But that’s where the similarities end and the extra special features come in to play. Lets take a good look at the goodies of this “star” car:
Unpainted carbon fiber roof which was only seen on an early Whitest White LFA prototype from Japan.
Aside from standard carbon fiber fixed wing, the optional rear winglets which are normally color keyed are left unpainted.
These Takata made airbag seat belts only come in black. For this special ride, they’re red to match the seats.
The standard upper dash pad only comes in black, but for this car it’s red with white stitching!
The all carbon fiber interior door trim is clad in white leather, white stitching, red leather door grips and carpeting.
The standard LFA power adjustable seats were chosen instead of the alcantara-lined race seats.
The base price of the Lexus LFA starts at $375,000, and the Nürburgring Package adds another $70,000. Add on the cost of the special configuration items, and my guess is that this car reaches or exceeds the $500,000 mark. Kudos to the new owner–this one-of-a-kind LFA is one for the history books!
