All-Wheel-Drive Lexus IS Drag Race

Lexus IS AWD Drag Race Home

Let’s say you’re rocking an IS 250 and you’re wondering how much faster you’d be accelerating if you had the extra $3,515 to spend on an IS 350. Wouldn’t you like a visual representation of the difference between 7.7 seconds and 5.6 seconds to 60 mph? Ask and it is given, my friend. Your requested visual representation is featured in the drag race video below.

The Fast Lane Car has gathered the all-wheel-drive versions of the Lexus IS 250 ($47,140 as tested), IS 350 ($50,355 as tested) and IS 350 F SPORT ($49,600 as tested) for an acceleration comparison.

What kind of power are we talking about in the Lexus IS range? The IS 350 and its F SPORT brother are working with the venerable 3.5L V6 with 306-horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

The IS 250 is powered by a 2.5L V6 with a more economical 204 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. The IS 250 also weighs 100 lbs. less than its bigger brothers. All the V6s are mated to a six-speed paddle-shift automatic.

Want to see how the IS 350’s acceleration compares to the 416-horsepower Lexus IS F? Here’s a treat from my YouTube Favorites that will show you the glory of V8 power.
