Achtung! Lexus LS 650 TMG to Debut in Germany

And when we say “warning,” we mean it. This is Lexus’ opening salvo against the like of the S-Class, and potentially, the likes of AMG. Now we have word that the from Motorauthority that the prototype will go on display at the Essen Motor show.

They say it’s just a “feasibility study” which means it’s model that is not set in stone at all. They’ll probably judge the public’s reaction at the auto show to determine where they’re going to go with this. Newsflash: People will be psyched.

The 5 liter twin-turbo V8 might have something to do with that presumption. They’re saying that it’ll make somewhere above 600 horsepower with a top speed of around 200mph. For reference, the IS-F makes a comparatively meager 416hp. Even the LFA only makes 550hp. That kind of power with all of the luxurious coddling of the new LS is an attractive option.

We’ll see the super sedan in the flesh later this year. If the market is interested enough, we’ll probably see it again in production form after that.
