A Stretch Lexus Notorious B.I.G. Would Love!
It’s no surprise Biggie Smalls a.k.a Notorious B.I.G. loves his Lexus as it’s been mentioned in many verses and featured in his videos over the years. If Biggie were alive today, a stretch Lexus would probably be his vehicle of choice to transport himself and the Junior M.A.F.I.A. clique. We’ve seen many stretch Lexus LS limousines over the years and most recently an LS 600hL Landaulet in Monaco, but never an 85″ stretch Lexus LS 600hL limo!
An LS 600hL limo has been recently spotted by A. Blancaflor up in the small city of American Canyon just north of San Francisco. We were never aware of a hybrid stretch limo until today. Other than the LS 600hL Landaulet for the Monaco Royal Wedding, this 85″ stretch LS 600hL limo may be the only in the world.
The stretching of an LS hybrid is no easy task as the complex Lexus Synergy Drive wiring has to be modified to accomodate extra high voltage wiring. The NiMH batteries in the LS 600hL reside in the rear floor as the electronic controls are handled up front. With the added capacity, larger wheels and tires were installed to accomodate the extra weight of the LS.
This LS Hybrid limo conversion was done by LA Custom Coach in Southern California. Scanning their website revealed that this 2009 LS 600hL in Obsidian was recently sold. Our guess is that this stretch Lexus was sold to a limo company in the Bay Area which explains the recent spotting. As the Lincoln Town Car ends its reign as the livery vehicle of choice, the search continues for a suitable replacement. It’s not common to see a Lexus in livery status but when we do so see them, we take notice.
