2024 GR Supra, GR86, and GR Corolla Special Editions: New Colors, New Features, Limited Availabilty
The 2024 special editions don’t come with any additional power, but they are packed with style and other performance enhancing features.
The GR Supra, GR86, and GR Corolla are all special models in the Toyota lineup today. But for 2024 the automaker has decided to make them even more special by introducing special editions of each of them for the new model year. And while none of these special editions bring any additional horsepower to the table, that doesn’t mean they are not desirable. More power is always good, but if we are honest, none of these cars really need it. What they will have though is a whole host of styling upgrades as well as some functional upgrades that will improve performance.
The 2024 special editions will be available later this year. The Supra will be first, arriving in the fall. The GR86 and GR Corolla will both be available in the winter. Pricing for each model will become available closer to the availability date. While the pricing will remain a mystery for a while longer, we know today what that price will include. We have all the details on each special edition, and we will share it all with you below.
2024 GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition
The Supra special edition will pay tribute to the MK IV Supra, but it is based on the current 3.0 Premium grade car. The new car will be available in either Mikan Blast or Absolute Zero (white). For those not fluent in Japanese the word Mikan means orange. Only 900 of these 45th Anniversary Edition cars will be built. 450 of them will be white and 450 will be orange. From a performance perspective you will get an oversized, manually adjustable rear spoiler for enhanced stability. The 19-inch wheels are painted matte black and behind them are black GR brake calipers. Along the side of the car, you get a black Supra side graphic.
The GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition will be available in both the 8-speed automatic with paddle shifters and the 6-speed manual transmission. Sign us up for the 6-speed in Mikan Blast. Under the hood is the familiar B58 inline six-cylinder 3.0L turbo. This unit pumps out 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. It makes the same power as the standard car but there is a bit of bling under the hood. There is a Mikan Blast strut tower brace with the Toyota Gazoo Racing logo. When the MK IV Supra went out of production, fans were heartbroken. Don’t let that happen again. The GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition might be the best Supra ever. Get one before they are gone.
2024 GR86 TRUENO Edition
Like the GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition the 2024 GR86 TRUENO Edition pays tribute to an iconic Toyota from history. In this case it is the AE86. 2024 marks 40 years since the AE86 debuted. And the GR86 TRUENO Edition has styling cues taken from that 1984 AE86. The most obvious visual cues are the two-tone black hood, the side panel graphic with ‘TRUENO’ spelled out, and the black duckbill spoiler. There are additional ‘TRUENO’ badges on the rear decklid and front bumper lip. Wheels are 10-spoke alloy 18-inchers finished in black metallic and are unique to the TRUENO Edition. The car will be available with either an automatic or manual transmission. You have your choice between two colors, Halo or Track bRed. Only 860 TRUENO Edition cars will be coming to the U.S.
The car will not only look good, but performance will be enhanced as well. The TRUENO Edition will come standard with a new Performance Package. This package includes SACHS dampers and Brembo brakes. And if you can’t snag one of these limited-edition models don’t fret. The new Performance Package will be available across the entire GR86 lineup. In addition, it can be retrofit on any 2022 or 2023 GR86.
2024 GR Corolla Circuit Edition
The GR Corolla Circuit Edition is back for 2024 and now it can be had in a new Blue Flame color in addition to Ice Cap. Black forged aluminum 18-inch BBS wheels come standard. These wheels are similar to what came on the nearly impossible to get 2023 MORIZO Edition. A black carbon fiber roof, and a large gloss black rear spoiler are also part of the package. Black side rocker graphics are included as well. Step inside the car and you will find blue interior stitching and blue accents on the shift knob. A JBL premium audio system with eight speakers is also standard. The GR team also made chassis and duct enhancements for added stability which will be found on all 2024 GR Corollas. 1,600 GR Corolla Circuit Edition cars are expected to be built for the 2024 model year.
Under the hood of the 2024 GR Corolla will again be the G16E-GTS 1.6L 3-cylinder turbo engine. It produces 300 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The only transmission available is a 6-speed manual. The other mechanical highlight is the GR-FOUR all-wheel drive system that was developed with the Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Championship Team. The GR Corolla was a sensation when it was first released and it looks to be even better for 2024. And that goes for all of these GR special editions.
