5 Incredible Shots of the Lexus LIT IS

1. LED Lights - Everywhere

LED lights are usually something you see in car headlights, taillights, or interiors.  But Lexus took things a lot further with the LIT IS concept.  This IS is literally lit, with a grand total of 41,999 LED light bulbs spread across the bodywork.  Why not 42,000?  We're guessing they ran out of the needed room.

2. The LIT IS is a Collaboration Piece

Built in collaboration with music video company Vevo, the LIT IS is a perfect rolling billboard for both.  The LED lights are programmable, and they can even be made to bounce along with the music you're playing.  It's an awesome effect that would be great at parties, and maybe not so great at night on the highway.

3. The LIT Can Broadcast Almost Anything

Even though the LIT IS plays well with music, that isn't all it can do.  The lights can broadcast things like words, graphics, and pictures, and even play animations.  Making it a perfect ride for budding artists, no matter what their medium of choice might be.

4. You Can See the LIT From a (Half) Mile Away

Those 41,999 LED lights produce some serious power - 175,000 lumens at full blast.  That's enough brightness to make the LIT visible from a half mile away.  Obviously, this is one of the many reasons why you'll never see a LIT IS driving down a public road.

5. The LIT Responds to You

Not only does the LIT make a nice big music box, it can also be controlled by human gestures.  The motion of the LED animations responds to hand movements, directly connecting the car and the owner.  This is controlled via a gaming console, which reads the movement and allows the car to respond to it.
