Lexus Opens First Parkable Flagship Store in Amsterdam

Dare to be Different

In recent years, we've seen plenty of automotive brands work to innovate in the dealership space with some pretty interesting results. This has led to some big, beautiful, and in some cases, groundbreaking facilities, but when it came time to create an ad campaign for the LBX to celebrate its launch in the Netherlands, Lexus wanted to do something a bit different. Thus, it created its very first parkable flagship store.

Affordable Luxury

This stunt stems from a partnership with the ad agency DDB Amsterdam, with the idea revolving around the fact that many high-end car brands are creating their own stores in "luxury rows" - huge, expensive facilities that show off their wares in a boutique setting. The LBX is all about providing customers with luxury for an affordable price, and thus, Lexus created a cheeky sort of flagship store of its own for that particular model that wouldn't break the bank.

Price of a Parking Spot

This new premium showroom provides the same sort of experience, albeit "for the price of a parking space," according to Lexus, as it's little more than a glass box placed around the LBX right smack in the middle of the street. This way, the small crossover can be presented to customers in the same space as those luxurious retailers, attracting the same shoppers as well.

Luxurious Experience

This isn't just some ordinary box, however, as it's equipped with fancy lighting and its own assistant, who is there to answer questions and show off the LBX to curious customers. There's even someone nearby to hold an umbrella for those customers when it rains, and provide them with a free coffee to boot.

Heading Out

The beauty of this setup is that when Lexus closed up shop here, they simply packed up their parkable store and moved it somewhere else following its day on P.C. Hoofstraat - the most famous shopping street in Amsterdam. Now, it's heading to various other, similar, high-end locations across Europe in the coming weeks as well.

Compact and Accessible

"In our temporary showroom, we playfully demonstrated how Lexus offers extraordinary luxury experiences even within the compact confines of a parking space," said John De Wit of Lexus Netherlands. "The Lexus LBX showroom demonstrated that luxury can indeed be compact and accessible!"
