More Special

Long underappreciated by most anyone's standards - particularly for a high-revving, sweet-sounding, V10-powered supercar - the Lexus LFA has enjoyed a tremendous comeback of sorts as of late, catapulting to the top of many collector's wishlists. However, even though the LFA is quite valuable as-is, the coveted Nurburgring Edition is even more so - making this stellar example up for sale at Canepa something truly special.

Rarer than Rare

When we're talking about rarity, the LFA already applies - just 500 were built in total, after all. However, Lexus also sold a grand total of 64 Nurburgring Edition LFAs, of which 25 were delivered to the U.S. Of that bunch, only seven left the factory with orange paint, making this particular LFA one of the rarest out there.

Low Mileage

Today, this LFA Nurburgring Edition has a mere 2,066 miles showing on the odometer, and has lived in both Florida and California after being sold new at Balise Lexus in West Springfield, Massachusetts. As such, it's a gorgeous piece of kit with no obvious flaws, as one would expect from a machine that's essentially guaranteed to sell for seven figures.

Dark Cabin

Inside the cabin, one will find a black interior with plenty of carbon fiber trim, 10-way power-adjustable heated seats covered in Alcantara, Mark Levinson audio system, and even more modern amenities like navigation and a backup camera, to boot.

Legendary Powerplant

Power comes from the somewhat legendary 4.8-liter V10 developed in collaboration with Yamaha, which basically needs no introduction at this point. For those unaware, however, this powerplant boasts lots of titanium parts and other exotic materials, helping it rev to the literal moon and churn out a cool 562 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque.

Package Details

As for the Nurburgring Edition package itself, this $70k option added an array of unique touches such as carbon fiber exterior bits and pieces including the front spoiler, a set of canards, and its fixed rear wing. The package also gave customers a revised suspension and lightweight alloy wheels to aid in terms of handling performance, too.

Finding Value

As for pricing, well, Canepa isn't listing anything, which isn't terribly surprising in this case. After all, LFA Nurburgring Edition cars were flirting with the million-dollar mark years ago, and now, regular LFAs in great shape are fetching that kind of money at auction. Recently, we've seen a pair of similar cars go for $1.65 and $1.8 million, respectively, which should put us in the ballpark of this one's asking price, too.
