The current inlet configuration falls somewhere in between a "plain pipe" and a "velocity stack" Again, simply radiusing the sharp edge will yield results..instead of turbulent airflow crashing into the butterfly plate, it can more closely flow along the "trumpet" walls. I have read that 2-4 % gains are possible from a plain pipe to a true velocity stack. I give 2%
