what the guy did was put the lug on with his finger then used the airgun,
the proper way to install a lug as you know is to hand tighten it with a socket then use the airgun with a torque stick.
i had to go into the bay to tell the guy to stop trying to force it on.
when i got home i loosened all the lugs to make sure there wasnt any problems with the others.i will say the torque on some of the lugs was really over torqued.
also he broke the center cap on one wheel. i should of done the rotation myself.next one i will do it.

Yuck. I hate it when they use air tools. Calibration is usually +/- 50%.

same here.i have a compressor and wouldnt think of using it on the lugs.finish with a torque wrench,job complete.

jimbosr1...i might have what you're looking for. I'll check tonight and will PM you.

I found a lug that measures about 2" full length, ignore the rust I found some better ones this morning. PM if it works for you.

thanks kphu,nice find.all the other lugs are 2 1/4" so i am trying to find a exact replacement.I am going to see if i can salvage the lug i have.
didnt think this would be so tough to find.thanks again!

the machinist tapped it and its good two go.thank you to all that replied.
