Default FS: $400 - Borbet Style 95s - 19x9/10+24 - Custom Finish

Update: I forgot this thread even existed. Wheels are still for sale. $400

Mods, if I need to do anything to keep this thread up please let me know.

------------------------
New price: $850. These need to go!

Hello all:

Up for sale is my set of genuine Borbet Style 95s, aka OEM BMW 745i wheels. These are rather popular wheels, sizing 19x9 +24 F, 19x10 +24 R. Original hub bore 73.1, PDC 5x120. Modifications: resleeved to 5x114.3, 73.1 to 60.1 hub rings included, custom finish with clear coat.

I bought these wheels from a friend about a bit more than 2 years ago. They were powdercoated black by an unknown company. Unfortunately I did not receive much details about the wheels from the seller.

The powdercoat was definitely not the best I've seen, so I decided to refinish them myself. I sanded them down by hand, 150 grit, 300, 450, 600, then wetsand 1000 grit, 1500, and finally 2000. The whole process took weeks, but culminated in the unique finish that I was going for.

At the high points of the wheel, the raw metal shows through, almost like a pin stripping effect. I then sprayed each wheel with a whole can of Spraymax 2K Glamour High Gloss Clear Coat, using 4 cans in total:

Result:

I had the wheels professionally resleeved to 5x114.3 by Fausto at Metal Works Place (http://www.metalworksplace.com/) in Santa Ana, Ca.

I ran these wheels without any problems for about a year, on and off the car due to fitting other wheels. I ran into one problem about 6 months ago. Due to about -8 camber up front and camber wear, I experienced violent inner tire bubbling, results in two blowouts while driving. This cracked two of the Borbet wheels, passenger front (one large crack and two hairline cracks) and drivers rear (one hairline crack). I took the wheels back to Fausto at Metal Works and had him fully and professionally TIG weld and mend the cracks. Wheels balanced perfectly after the repairs. Reference the pictures please:

Front passenger:

Drivers rear:

Anyways, these wheels are straight now. After I had them repaired, I mounted them back on the car for about 2 months of basic, city driving. I ran a 215/35 on the fronts and a 235/35 on the rears until they wore out. That's when I decided that I needed a change, thus that's why they are for sale. I currently have a set of Wedssports that I have my eye one.

Here's the deal, again these are for sale, no trades please.
Price: $1000, I'm open to negotiation, but no low balling. PRICE DROPPED TO $850
Location: Southern California, South OC, willing to drive to meet up.
Contact: PM or text 949-547-9487.
Included are just the wheels, no tires, but they come with hub rings, black center caps, and valve stems.

*Mods, I will have vouches coming in ASAP*

Thanks for looking guys. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments.

Mind sharing the work you had to do for the front fitment? Looks pretty aggressive.

Not at the moment, local buyers have priority. But I'll keep you in mind.
