I think you mean 19x13 +31. A -31 would be a 7.5+ inch lip on my wheels and you only have a 5".

Okay so this is how I measured the offset. The wheels is 13 inches wide right. You divide that by 2. Which gives you the center line. Which makes it 6.5 inches. Then you measure the back spacing. Which is from the hub to the rim edge. I got 7.75 inches. Then you subtract the back spacing from the centerline
You get -1.25. You convert that to mm you get -31.75. Which is your offset.

That's how I learned. Not sure if im doing it wrong or not, but I've been doing it that way for a while.

Not necessarily, the wheels could have a really thick hub (hi-disk) and make it be negative offsets while having a smaller lip. If it was lo-disk or super lo-disk then you would be correct.

Remember that the wheel is measured on the inside where the tire beads, not the entire width of the rim, so when calculating offset you have to account for the thickness of the edge/lip where the tire mounts.

Good luck with the sale.

Yeah i already accounted for where the tire beads. so if i measure edge to edge it comes out to 14 inches wide.

You measured 7.75 from the hub to the edge of the inner barrel, correct? Then it would be 7.75-6.5 not the other way around. That's why you got a negative when you shouldn't have. Positive offset is the hub face being past the centerline in the direction of the front of the wheel. The width is between the flanges where the bead sits as the other poster said. However, since you measured the backspacing to the edge you have to use the edge numbers for calculating offset. Typically, the flanges are around half inch thick so your edge width would be around 14. So you offset would be more around:

7.75-7=.75 inches so 19x13 +19 offset.

I do have a low disc wheel, but the OP would have to have close to a 3" hub height to achieve that offset with a 5" lip. He calculated the offset wrong, it's not -31.
