Default Wheel/rim package for Gs 400

I've been thinking of some rims but don't really know what offset i need and what staggard means etc... I deffinitley like the spoke type wheels with a lip but i want the same size all around so i can rotate etc.... I have a pearl white gs 400 and i know i saw a thread on here last week about someone wanting rims for there car with same color. I would like 18 or 19 inch with a good tire for comfort and stability on the road... I probably need help from D2 auto to chime in a give me some input... I'm not really sure what offset i need and what the numbers mean?

I think on a white car silver with a polished lip looks pretty good... Spoke design and a 8 inch wide tire..

Here's my idea......18x8 all around, silver spoke rim with polished lip maybe a HP evo design.

and a offset that makes the wheel/rim sort of flush with the front and rear fenders... I know that will be hard in the rear because I need a 9 or 10 inch tire but thats to wide for me...

Hope this gives you a idea of what I'M talking about....Thank you

You sound EXCITED lol

I don't ever see any rims w/ a lot of spokes in chrome... it probably would be pretty good! Silver + polished lip has been done to death... and white rims on a white car is also an older fad (yes, I said it, fad).

Hopefully BLAZIN posts the pics. I'm interested

These http://www.axiswheels.com/mod.html would look nice on your GS400, I have a buddy with them on his GS, 20x9 and 20x10 staggered setup with a fat 3" lip front and 3.5" lip rear. I have a brand new set if you want them, let me know. $1,300
Thanks,

Mods can you move this to the tirerack wheel and rim section. I think I'll get more responses there. Not really looking to buy just need to know what will fit my car offset, staggard or not etc... I'm comfused as what some of these words mean and what i need for my car..Thanks

Rim size: Width and Diameter

Diameter is the size of the rim (R18, in this case)

Width is how wide it is (8" in this case)

Bolt pattern = 5x114.3... generic Toyota 5 lug I think... also honda, nissan, etc

Offset: Measured from the center of the rim, a positive offset is XX millimeters from the center of the rim toward the outside lip of the rim. Negative offset is from the center lip xx millimeters toward the inside lip of the rim. A positive offset will push your rim toward the inside of your car while a negative offset will push it out. Depending on the car and rim width, it varies. You don't want the tire rubbing the inner fender liner or outer fender lol

Tire size for 18x8 is usually

225 / 40 R 18

225 mm width (dependant on the width of the rim... 8 inches 'flush' fit is 225, but you can go 235 and possibly even 245... but 225 is the recommended)

The second number determines the sidewall height... it's a percentage of 225. So the sidewall will measure 40% of 225.

R18 is obvious... rim size =P

www.1010tires.com - They have a good section explaining it all! Even other stuff for snow, tread grade, traction grade, etc etc and how those grades are obtained! It's fun to learn, 'cuz knowledge is power!! *(Family Guy reference)*
