Default Custom cool box and rear seat table in ES

I have recently upgraded my ES black diamond edition with custom build in cool box, rear seat table and custom made black diamond logo shape comfort pillows.

I would like to know more about the cooling function and how it is regulated. I am going to make an automatically regulated cigar humidor if it is possible

Cool box is thermoelectric. I disassembled one of the cool boxes that you can buy in the store and custom build in to the armrest compartment. It has a warmer as well.

It took me a several evenings to finish this project. I did not make any pictures to show you details. Here I have some pictures of disassembled cool box before the installation. The space is limited so required precise measuring before you do any trimming of its plastic parts. The fan at the bottom of cool box needs a custom made bracket to fit the space between compartment, thermoelectric element and car floor (about 7mm space). You need also make a custom bracket to hold the center console in place. I install switch and control led in the place of factory compartment light. To do this, you have to replace existing wires with longer for this switch and led. To run cool box, you can use power from the socket in the compartment, however socket needs to be removed for the cool box installation.

Thanks, I agree that this table could be done more factory looking way, however you can turn it or move it up and down. It was so hard to find a retail ready part to adopt it as a table surface and mounting bracket. I use laminate for it. Another idea was to install the table the way you can quickly remove it for the fifth passenger or resale. I am going to do footrest for rear passengers just like BMW 7 series. I also closed the trunk access in the back seat, so I have additional compartment finished with suede fabric and led light connected to the tail light. This model does not have bluetooth connection so I have installed a gadget with bluetooth and have this connected to the factory radio.I try to do custom changes the way the car will stay as much as possible to the factory look.

Thanks, just like I mention in some earlier responds, I did not make any pictures while I did this project. It is difficult for me to remove this armrest with cool box to do some pics unless I will need to to do something in the future. I will provide them. For right now, I made a picture of the switch installed in the place of the factory light inside the armrest compartment. Whoever is going to do this installation must know that to extend wires for the switch must use wire AWG 18 because in most of this thermoelectric cool boxes the main power supply is going trough this switch.
