Default Coilovers and Bags?

Does anybody know how the UAS air bags fit over megan coils? I'm about to buy the coils, and planning on bags later down the road. I'm just curious as to how they fit to the coils. I understand that if you use your stock struts they have brackets to make it work, but do you use there brackets with the coils also? Maybe the braket goes in the middle of the two collars, then the bag bolts down to the bracket?

The site says they have tested it on other coils, but I didn't see any pictures of them with coils on their site. They only have pics of LS's with bagged stock struts. I'll be keeping my stock struts just incase, but would love to use the coils and bags if I can.

you have to buy brackets for the coilovers, iirc UAS will sell you some, i think Forgeworx (or similar name) company sells them too.

moved to VIP subforum since they'd know better.

Thanks for the move PD. I did see they have some kind of strut bracket, but I'm just curious as to how it mounts to the coilovers.

the mounts screw in place of the collars and the bag gets sandwiched between them like the springs do, iirc.

yes they do, what i did was drill two holes in the mounts, one all the way trough so a 3/8 bolt can fit trough and another on top of the smaller hole but not all the way trough. You can see in the picture you have to use short about 1" 3/8 bolt with a flat skinny head and a hex key so you can tighten the bag to the top mount.I couldnt find any of these bolts locally so i ended up going to home depot buying a hex head bolt and shaving most of the head off flat so it sits flush with the mount and then just used a cut off tool to make a cut so i can use a flat head screw driver to tighten it. Other then that the aero sport bags i have slide over megans just fine.

Thanks for the response guys. It's nice to see some pics of how it bolts together. I will be slowly gathering parts for bags to go with my coils soon. It is a really nice option to be able to have both of best worlds. I want it to handle pretty good, but also want to drop her in the weeds when I park it.

Coilovers and universal air suspension (UAS) bags will work. Here's a picture of a setup I had in my previous ls430 Megan coilovers and UAS bags.

AznRacer - Thanks for the pic of the megans. I see your setup doesn't look like it is bolted to the top cap on the coilovers? How does that workout? I see in the pics MDSC posted, his are bolted to the tops. Is it ok to have them only bolted to the bottom bracket? Or am I missing something?

Thanks again, and I just put my megans in yesturday! So now to start collecting parts to bag it.

I prefer static with cup kit. bags just ruin the damper in my opinion.

you can set a set of bags over coils to be as stiff as you want by adjusting overall height of the shock body, it will limit the lift though. My car has a lot of travel but rides pretty stiff, most people cant tell its on bags when they ride in it.
