Rolling/shaving Ls430 guards...
Heya.
Just wondering if some of you more knowledgeable folk can help me out..
As some of you know im looking at some wheels, just working out offsets, then ordering..
When rolling or shaving LS430 guards, i assume you remove that thin edge liner that goes along the radius of the arch? correct? will the larger liner still stay in place? Or do you leave this this 'edge' liner?
If anyone can give a short 'what to do with 430 liners' rundown that would be great..
Thanks in advance,
Pete

I always rsuggest to Rolling fenders. Shaving is cooh too, but if not sealed you run the risk of rust.
remove all liners and clips before using a fender roller. You may have to mod them a bit to reinstall but its not really a big deal....these are general rules to rolling fenders.
heatgun to warm up the area and try to prevent paint from cracking...and sealer just in case it does crack.
Find a friend who has done it before. Bodywork to repair arches on fenders is a major headache.
good luck!

Thanks DriftGirl,
Ive done rolling before on previous car, just havent encountered the extra little bits that the LS has..Seems like the rear flange trim is just rubber, so that should be easy to deal with. The front seems a little more effort is needed.
All good, ill get my body finisher to deal with it

dunno if you touched your fenders yet but LS430's have studs in the inside that hold the liner in place right above the wheel arch. might be a better idea to shave it down and coat it if you max clearance for your wheel setup.

Update:
Had the fronts rolled today. Perfect job and they guys didnt have to shave the liner tabs off the front.
Rears shave 5-7mm and slight roll.
Excellent work.

No pics of the inside of the guards sorry, but heres the car as it sits now, with the SS-Kit installed and Tanabe DF210's (total drop 55mm all round)
^my fav pic so far
Now to add 5mm spacer @ the front.

Found my old pictures... Shaved...
- Remove the plastic piece.
- tape it up
- cut off lip
- grind/sand it down
- paint it to prevent rust
