***20" vip wheels - set-up challenge***
What's up! Fairly new to the VIP Style forum; however, I've been a fan of the style from the beginning. I finished up my 430 and started working on my first gen GS300. I've been looking for a decent mesh wheel to put on it and decided to go with the Petrol Vengeance in 20".
http://http://petrolwheels.com/petrol_multi_piece_wheels/one_piece_wheels/stainless_steel_lip_wheels/petrol_vengeance_one_piece_wheels.php[/IMG]
My challenge........
The Petrol Vengeance only comes in 20.8.5 f and 20x10.5 r. The guys at Petrol seem to think that the rear wont feet on the first gen GS300, but, I've seen some agressive pics throughout the forum and thought surely there's a way. I guess I could just try and find another wheel, but, there isn't much in the "mesh" wheel world to choose from. (At least within my budget for a 15 year old car). I also like the wheel because there aren't many wheels out there that are mesh, with an almost totatlly "flat" face.
Anyway, can someone help me figure out whether or not these wheels will work on my 1994 GS300??????
Thanks,
SKIIIP

technical support.....
I just needed to know if they'll work well, fitment wise, on the car or not. Would the +20 offset be a hassle, or, should I go with the +40????? Anyone....

My brother has 20x9.5 front and 20x11 rear on his '147 (I spec'd the wheels and D2FORGED made them), so you can definitely make these work. We run fat 255/35-20 and 295/30-20s because we are white dudes who like w-i-d-e rubber.
A lot of VIP guys are running offets on the +20 to +25 range on the 1GS, it's a question of tire size and if you're willing to put in the work to make them fit.
20x8.5 +20 isn't that crazy on the front of the 1GS. It will fit the same on the fender as
20x9.0 +26
20x9.5 +32
With a narrow 8.5" front wheel you really can't stretch the tire at all. The smallest tire you can get is 225/30 or 225/35-20; those will fit "square" on the 8.5" wheel.
You can stretch the rears a bit, perhaps 255/30-20 or 265/30-20 will allow you to stuff that 20x10.5 +20 back there. You might need to roll the fender an the lower you can make the car the better due to the natural tuck the suspension takes as the car gets lower and lower. Negative camber helps, too, but will kill the tires in short order.

what suspension are you planning on running and dont just go order the wrong fitment. then you will lose $$ in the long run because what you order and then learn will be sold for alot less then what you paid for it and no one else who knows what to order will want those.
Socalsc4 will get you the fitment and the meaty tires
what look at you wanting aswell. most make the mistake of stretching tires and its not needed. hell I did,
