Default Tire Brand w/ Most Stretch For 20x8.5

I currently have Yokohama S Drive 225/35zr20s for my 20x8.5. I am not impressed with the stretch and to be honest, do not have much knowledge/experience on tire brands that provide more stretch. Would anyone please school me on what tire brand could provide the more tire stretch for my wheel size? I'm trying not to compromise my sidewall height but at the same time, not trying to be picky here. I would appreciate any helpful comments. Thanks in advance!

What is your offset? With that size width, I'm assuming you don't need a stretch, unless your offset is REALLY low.

Offset is +20. Regardless, want to know tire brand that offers the most stretch for 8.5 width. Thanks.

whenever you stretch, WHENEVER, you lose sidewall. that's kind of just how the world works, you are stretching the tire so the sidewall is slanted inwards towards the tread away from the face of the wheel in order to gain clearance from the fender in order to run an aggressive wheel.

different brands all stretch differently, some models run large for their size, some run true, some run small. all depends on your needs and wants. you don't seem to be sure what you want, notwithstanding the fact that an 8.5 +20 isnt really going to need a super stretched tire. shaved fenders with tires that run True might be enough, or perhaps a very MILD stretch.

20x8.5 dont know if youll find anything. 225 may be the skinniest. what i would do i f i were you is look up all the specs of the tires you can find and look for overall width. it is on the websites. then pick the lowest. it may take a while though to go through all the sites though. i doubt youll find a 205 or 215

i was looking for tires for my 18x8's and they dont make anything less than 205, so i went on the websites and ordered the skinniest set which were 8.07" overall wide. they still arent very stretched.

I completely understand the concept of stretching the tires will loose sidewall height. What I was trying to say is that keeping the 35 series and not go down to 30 series. Also, I am sure what I want, am I not being specific enough with my question of which brand provides the most stretch for a 8.5? While trying to stay away from buying a different offset rim so I don't have to modify my fronts. +20 with a 8.5 on a LS430, not a LS400 is right at the threshold. That is why I am trying to find something that will help me bring the tires back inwards a few mm. I have not seen any tire company provide 215/35zr20s here in the states, so finding a tire brand that provides the most "stretched" look is what I am looking for.

Helpful comments please.

On a narrow rim like 8.5 you simply won't find a narrow enough tire to get any real stretch. You'd need something like 185/35-20! No bueno.

I run 205/35-18 on my MR2 on 18x8 and they aren't particularly stretched.

Don't forget, an 8.5" wheel is really 9.5" wide overall (outside to outside).
If you do the math on a 225 tire, it's about 8.85" wide.

Or, you can get wider (manlier) wheels!

Do you really need the stretch though? Stretch is only needed for when your wheels 'poke' too much out of the wheel well, and you need to stretch the tire to keep them inside the wheel well, and not hitting your fenders. 20x8.5 +20 is still a relatively 'weak' fitting wheel, that isn't going to need a stretch, or fender mods. Can you post a picture of your wheel, since you say it's 'at the threshold'? Does that mean it's 'almost' about to rub on your front fenders?

It rubs when going up driveways and wheels are turned 45 degrees either direction. I will post a pic shortly.
