If you want to be in the nissan/infiniti family, I'd rather get a Q45 or the last gen. M45, like Mr Mark
I haven't seen a maxima vip.

Maxima would not be considered VIP base in Japan...but anything makes you happy.
Like someone said above, for the US market:
Lexus LS series, GS series, Infiniti M series, Q series, Benz S430, S500, S600 would be the top choices for VIP cars.

I think you should get whatever makes you fell best although a maxima is not rwd I think if you can find the parts and pull off a vip maxima it would be dope. and throwing in a rb 25 wouldnt be to bad either

M45. That thing is Fabulous
or a Ls400 98+
IMO a maxima wouldnt look good.
Saw a guy ttry to pull it off, looked liked a Regular Dubbed out Maxima.
Maxima = No , no
& with you going with a GS that would be the best choice for u better than the maxima.

For a VIP Style vehicle, I would consider getting the following vehicles
LEXUS:
1st Gen GS, 2nd Gen GS, 3rd Gen GS
1st Gen LS (UCF10), 2nd Gen LS (UCF20), 3rd Gen LS (UCF30), 4th Gen LS
INFINITI:
M35/M45
Q45
ACURA
RL (KA9) and newer

Generally, big Toyota and Nissan luxury cars are used, but some people use Mazda and Honda as their base car.
Please tell me who says who is a VIP "purist"? There was a KA7 as the cover car of VIP Style magazine a few years ago that had KA9 taillights swapped. Thats a FF. One of the biggest VIP style magazine put a Honda Legend on the cover. If thats not a pure VIP car, I dont know what.
I dont understand why america has to be so exclusive about VIP cars. its a big subculture of Japan that just happened to go over seas. Can't we all just enjoy the art of customizing cars this way and not care about "What is the right way to make a VIP car"? I don't know if you've seen or went to VIP car events, but you should see the variety of cars there. Simply modded Celsior and Majesta, Cima and Gloria painted with crazy colors with huge blister fenders, k cars with massive walls of subs, vanning vans with body molding that looks like its going to fly, a turboed Odyssey with air ride, and "shogatsu shiyo" Previas with chopped roof. Most VIP car owners in Japan I've met are really accepting about other styles of cars and even study non-VIP cars and incorporate it to make/evolve the VIP car styles. I just wish that kind of attitude will catch on in the States instead of debating "what makes a VIP car".
