I've ordered some 19" wheels which will require new tires. My husband wants me to get Pilot SS, but I'm concerned about winter temperatures on the tires. The car is garage kept, will NEVER be driven in the snow as we really don't get much anyway (this past winter was hopefully a fluke and not becoming the norm). But, it will get driven on clear and cold days.

Do I need an all season because of cold temperatures? Snow traction is a non-issue.

What about Max Performance Summer - Michelin Pilot Sport PS2?

I would love a quieter tire than OEM.

I don't know what to do......

The Pilot Super Sport is an excellent Max Performance Summer tire, but like all summer tires, it's not intended for use at or near freezing temperatures. The tread compound is very soft to provide excellent wet and dry grip during the warm months, but it gets incredibly stiff as you get closer to freezing temperatures. That greatly limits the amount of grip available, even when there is no snow or ice present. I don't recommend using any summer tire once the temperature drops below 40 degrees. If you can park the car when it gets that cold, I would go for it. If not, then the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3 (or a different ultra high performance all-season tire) would be a better choice for your situation.

If you are driving in freezing Temps, you will need an all season....imo

I would recommend the new BFGoodrich g-Force Comp 2 A/S. It is their new UHP all season.

They are one of the best tires I have ever owned

Also, the Conti DWS is a good option and an UHP all season tire.
