Default Brushed finish

I have some iForged Daytona with hi-polish face with clear coat. The clear is looking terrible. Not sure I can save it. If I can't I'm thinking about removing it and instead of the hipolish face I would like brushed. Any DIY on doing the brush finish yourself and getting GOOD results? I have restored the lips on a few wheels after curb rash so I know a little about finishing the wheels. Also what clear coat would you use to clear the faces once they are brushed? I assume a high heat like the ones for the engine bay?
