Hi guys!! I'm new, and have some questions about rim fitment...
Hi guys. My name is Nick, and I'm a member over at Maxima.org. I don't know if my signature will work, so I'll give you a breif description of my car. It's a silver 1996 Infiniti I30 with a rare 5 speed transmission, and VLSD. With my hybrid intake and y pipe, I'm guessing I have about 210 hp (not fwhp), and about 220 tq. My car is lowered, and has a stereo in it.
My question is about fitting my rims on my friend's 1995 SC300. He wants to buy them from me, but he was too lazy to get the info about his car, so I'm doing it now. My rims are 18x7.5" SSR GPO (not sold in America, I'm told). They weigh around 42lbs. with tires. They fit on my I30, which (I'm pretty positive here) has 114.3x5 and around +42 stock. Anyways, with some hubcentric rings, these rims fit on my car fine. The rims have a +45 mm offset, which means I would have to get 5mm spacers to get them to fit the SC, right?
The only thing that worries me is that when I test fit one of my rims on his car, I heard a grinding noise coming from the wheel after about 3 feet of driving. Needless to say he stopped in the middle of the road and took the rim off.
Anyways, sorry for the long post, but I'm just trying to make sure these will fit his car, especially since you guys are RWD (lucky bas***ds). All of the tire places around here have idots working for them, so they were of no help.

Hi Nick. Two things real quick.
1.) we don't allow images over 100 high by 400 wide in the siggy.
2.) we have a wheels forum and i am going to move the thread to there so you can get some help.

OLT- Thanks for the info, I'm still not familiar with the layout of your forum. Does this mean my sig is too big? I don't know the size of it.
NRG- Actually, my intake has been dyno proven to produce about 8 WHP and almost the same torque. However, this power isn't across the entire power band, so aside from the sound, there isn't a huge reason to get an intake. My y pipe has been dyno proven to give close to 15 WHP. So considering these are HP at the wheels, and not the crank, I think it is reasonable to guesstimate 210 hp, 220 tq. If I had a cat-back, I would agree with you more.

Yes it is too big (it was 575x431 which is huge by our forum standards). I've taken the liberty of removing it for you... max size we allow is 450 x 100.
Good luck with your wheels, don't know the answer to your question buy I'm sure someone may be able to chip in here.

Can anybody give me some more info on the rims? I'm going back to college Tuesday and would like to get the rims off my car by then.
