Default Yokohama AVS or Bridgestone S03?

hey guys, I need some helps here...

I need 245/35-R19 and 275/30-R19 for my GS. Actually, I'm looking for Dunlop SP 9000 sicne I heard that they give soft ride and have lips protector; however, the tire shop in my location does not have it (out of stock) and they recommend me for either Yokohama AVS for appr. $1250 ot Bridgestone S03 for appr. $1080.

I read through all the threads and the poll about these both tires, but I'm still no sure for what I have to choose since these are expensive tires and I don't want to gamble for them.

I know that Yokohama has better performance on dry road, but is not as good as Bridgestone in performance on wet condition. And, Bridgestone is not as good as Yokohama on dry condition, but overall it is great on wet and dry condition.

I'm confused for what I have to choose ... So, could you tell me what tires I better choose in term of performance, noise effect, and price?

Thanks again.

-Mike

Mike,

Did you look at this great comparison on the Tire rack site?

I've got Bridgestone S03's on, love em. I've read that some folks have complained about higher road noise after they wear a bit, bit I haven't noticed that yet.

I see... ok then, I'm still pondering, but I might go with Bridgestone...
I mean I live in Wisconsin that it often rains, even during the summer so.. Bridgestone might work better..
And, in term of noise, how long usually will it come up for certain people? Like after one year?

guys i have just bought a set of the new goodyear f1 gs-d3 ,, read the reviews via tirerack about them over 160 positive and they just came out ,, they are rated the top wet and dry tire with almost no road noise and comfort ride

i have gone to goodyears site and read indepent reviews on them as well as other indep sites ,, basically they say these will run faster lap times in the wet as compared to others in the dry

they are made in germany and they are comparably priced with so3 (which i currently have in 18in for about 7months now) so3 were great but the road noise

goodyear was giving a 40 instant rebate to try them out i bought them from discount tire

good luck

Very cool LFL, I was hoping someone had those and could chip in. Looking forward to a comparison as they wear a bit.

well guys, I've ordered the S03.. I'm taking the risk for that noise.. Thanks Dave !!
Don't really care about the noise (I hope it's not that annoying), but I drive with a loud music anyways, so..

i was also about to get the s0-3 given that many here and there like them, and the price is good, but the noise from my last set of pirellis were a pain and i need to avoid that.

brandon suggested pilot sport a/s so i hope the money is worth it

hi Will,

I'd tried to get the SP9000 here, but the rear 275/30/19 are out of stock, so I have to go with other options avalaible.. the other options are either avs or s03 pole position.. so I took the s03.. I'll post pic soon!!!

By the way, I don't really understand what do you guys mean by noise here... I found the stock GS is a quiet car... however, when it is lowered and staggered, if you don't get the right tires, then the noise will come out (just like civic in highway)? Is this what you guys mean by noise?

no we are talking about teh road noise. for example when i had the yoko avs sport in the front, when it was wearing, road noise got so bad that when it's at 30mph, the whole cabin was resonating. with my so3 there is almost no noise
