Default Bad traction with 19's?

I recently got 19's and i seem to have a lot less traction than when i had 17's. I had bald toyo proxies t1-s before and they gripped like a champ, but now that i have 19's (also toyo proxies t1-s) it feels like i'm about to slide when i take a turn hard. Do 19's give you less traction? i have a fatter setup with the 19's but the 17's give me better traction. What's the deal?

Default Spare for 19's?

Will the stock spare work now that i have 19s? If not what can i use? I live in nyc and there are nails/potholes/hills/ramps everywhere. What can i use in place of the stock spare if god forbid one of my tires blows up (300 bucks + a new rim).

mrshabo,
Is the grip bad all the time or in the wet? I remember when my old 17's set up would slip and slide all over the road when wet but grip like poop on a blanket in the dry. My 18's set up now has pretty good grip in the dry, and in the wet, compared to before when I had excellent grip in the dry, horrendous in the wet, because of the larger width of my old 17's (17x8 and 17x9 compared to 18x8 and 18x9). With my 245's on the 18's it expells the water quicker and my old 265's. This may not answer your question fully but hope it helps as an example.

well i haven't been tried taking a turn in the rain like i do when it's dry. Here is nyc there isn't much room for mistake u know what i mean.. roads are pretty tight here.. Soarer the 17's was good in both wet and dry land. Everything is good going in a straight line, just not during a turn. My 19's are a lot wider than the 17's i have. The 17's were 235 all around. the 19's are 245 in the frotn and 275 in the back. I dunno what's up...
