DgotRASH (CurbRash that is) :-(
Thats right folks after cruising CL, throwing my old ghetto dubs in the trash, and getting some quality JDM wheels, what do i do?? Curb one of them bad!!
I was on the Meritt headed from CT into NY and its curvy so I was really enjoying my suspension through the tight curves. I was going through a left hand curb hugging the inside lane, when a van with a camper began to creep into my lane as i was about to pass, I was going about 85-90mph so i knew i would pass okay, i just hugged the inside of the curve a little more. Well I hugged a little too much and bzzzzzzzt. the steering wheel barely twitched, thats how lightly i grazed the curb. That was what i heard, i instantly knew what it was and my heart fell in my lap. When I got out of the car to survey the damage, my mouth dropped!! Because I was going so fast, that 1 second graze of the curb, went all the way around the rim.
When I called another member that night to tell him about the damage (Bluelex), he said I sounded like I wrecked the car!!
I am a very meticulous person and damaging my 3month old wheels really bothered me, but, what can you do.
I have the shop that sold me the wheels hunting a new wheel down, and I called a shop in TX today, the guy said he just shipped a CA-05 (1) to NY, I was sooo hurt. He told me to call back 2morrow.
If anyone can help with a repair facility (highly unlikely due to the japanese chroming process utilized on these wheels) or a replacement wheel (please please please) I would appreciate it.
Without further ado, the rash patient:

This is one of the times I wish I wasnt trying to be so "Special" with my JDM unavailible in America wheels. Look at me now. Also, if I had 3pc, I could just take them apart and get a new lip, or get the lip fixed! Ur lucky my man (well, luckier than me)!

Derrick man, sorry to hear about the curb rash deal. Unfortunately that's a problem we're all gonna have to face at least once in our lives. To have that happen on a rare, straight JDM wheel is another thing, almost like accidentally denting a valuable baseball card. Hope you'll get that straightened out before perhaps our next NYC meet...

Damn, sorry to see that bro! That sucks! At least you didn't bend it or crack it or something. It should be easy to fix it...the chroming may not match but now would be a good opportunity to get it fully chromed (US style)....or have the lips polished and the centers painted a light gunmetal grey...
