19x8.5 et35 on 1997 ES300????
I'm interested in the Axis Supermesh and had originally decided on going with 18x8, but after seeing 18's on a "similar" car, the 18's look quite small. Perhaps it's the style of the wheel that causes this.
I'd like to consider moving up to 19's, but I need some advice, and perhaps, some info from ES owners who've used 19's.
Will a 19x8.5" with a 35 off-set(also available in 40 off-set) fit on a 1997 ES300? Tire size would be 235/35-19. I know this is really pushing the limit and I realize I probably have to roll the rear fenders, but is it achievable?
The car is currently lowered 1.7F and 1.4R w/ Tein S-Tech springs/KYB struts.
Really need some help!
Thanks.

19x8.5 +35 is as close to perfect as you can get.
A 19x8.5 +40 will hit the rear strut tube and will require a 5mm spacer- which puts you right back at a +35.
In the rear, you will need to remove the plastic-coated fender arch guard and perform pretty major rear fender trimming or rolling.

SoCalSC4 - I sent you a PM.
I've found a few Solara guys running 19x8.5's. One individual claims he is running +35 at all four corners. Another guy is running +44 front and +38 rear. Both guys did have to roll the rear fenders.
Would different off-sets F & R be suggested for better fitment. I'm concerned about how +35 would fit/look in the front.
These Axis Supermesh's are available in 35, 40 and 45 off-sets
Thanks.

I PM'd you back...
In a perfect world, with a 19x8.5 a +40 is perfect for the front (a 19x8.5 +35 is good, just "aggressive"), and a +35 is required on the rear (to clear the strut tube). I have a few potos I could send you...
