Default 18" tires for my new rims

I just picked up a set of new chrome 18" "factory" rims for my 01' LX470 on Ebay for $1200.00.....Any thoughts on a tire?

BP01LX,

Good deal. Did you buy from Charlie Ngo? I have had good luck with him in the past. I would look into the Michelin LTX M/S....I think its avail in the stock 18 inch size.

Hey, are you in the market to sell your 16 inch rims? LMK

Michelin Pilot LTX/MS 275-65-18's
Check these out. I just put them on mine. They are a GREAT deal. These are $200.00 tires in the 275/60/18 size. These are little taller but work perfectly. Jump on them while you can. Apparently there is an overstock in this size from what they told me.

Thanks for the input.....after much research I have elected to give the Goodyear "Fortura" a try.
My decision was not based entirely on economics but on the over all ratings.
They beat the Michelins across the board in all catagories!
I was able to go to my local Discount Tire store and get an exact price match even though they will be ordering them from the Tire Rack themselves as they do not ordinarily stock Goodyear tires!
For those who are in doubt check out this link:

I may sell my stock "Satin Finish" wheels with new Michelins...what are they worth?

Default Not to rain on your parade....but

you know that the "survey" results that the tirerack has is soley based on the buyer "perception" of what they bought and isn't any sort of true "testing" data.

If you look at the top of the page and go to the "test" link - this is the tireracks version of their own testing and they control the tests using the same car and same size tires. Now based on their results the Goodyear overal came in last place with the Michelin Cross Terrains and Bridgestones coming in ahead....

Not saying that the goodyears might not be great tires - just wanted clarify what the survey numbers really mean!!!

Good luck!
Will

Hey,

Please check around before buying these Goodyears. I had a look at your link and thought these tires looked like a set on a LX we test drove before buying our current LX. These tires made the LX ride/drive like a dump truck.....really. Read some of the buyer feedbacks and check around.

As for your stock 16 inch wheels. PM me if your selling right now, I am about to order a new chrome set of 16s for 600+ ship. My current set of chromes are starting to show some pitting and were not well taken care of....I have 02 16s mounted up for winter rims/tires and like the kinda gunmetal silver/gray that the 01/02 rims were painted. I purchased these 02 takeoff rims for 300 plus shipping. If your in that range LMK asap.

i had a set of kumhos 285/60/18 and they looked really good and gave the vehicle more squat, if you know what i mean. try that size but beware some tires have a lot of road noise
