need help fellow CL'ers on some rims
im really in a jam here. i have two deals on two different set of rims. there used and come with tires
1: Lowenhart LD1chrome, tires 245 35 20 price - $3000
2: ADR Sterling chrome, tires 245 30 20 price - $2000
the draw back is the LD1's have minor scratches not curb checks and only has about 15k miles left of tread, while the Sterling's has brand new tires no scratches no nothing. i forgot what brand of tires both rims had but i remember they we're good brands. i looked up the ADR Sterlings online, and found a price asking around $1760 w/o tires so i dont know if its a good deal. and i know Lowenharts run well up into the 5k area brandnew. any inputs fellow CL'ers ?

I would go with the lowenharts, but LD1's are old now....If I were u since u have atleast 3 grand to spend I would go with a new set of wheels.....Used rims may have dents in the inner rim which cause u problems in the future, then u will find urself getting them fixed alot trust me! I bought used rims b4, but after buying new I feel confident and will know every bump that those wheels hit....Remember, u can never really know what damage a rim has had when somebody else had them 1st...

i agree with wilassasin, put your cash toward a set of new wheels/tires. If you do decide to go with one of the two you stated above, the only logical choice would be the ADR's. Regardless how much those lowenhart's cost, who wants scratched rims. Plus you would have to buy new tires. That's a no brainer. I had a set of LD1's in 18", and they where not all they are cracked up to be. I considered those a waste of my hard earned money.
