Default tire rotation

hi I am new to the board, My dad has a 02 IS sport cross, he took it to get the tires rotated today and the guy at jiffy lube told him that the front has a different offset then the rear. Is this true? If so what do you guys do to rotate your tires. BTW I tried the search function and was unable to find a answer he has the 17 inch stock alloy rims, and his car is charcol and black leather. I drive a 99 solaraSLE and am a regular on solaraguy.com thats how I heard about you guys. Please help me out my dad does not know too much about cars.

thanks

nick

Yes they do. I manage two Goodyears and the 02 sportcross does indeed have different offset from ft to rear. If you put the rear rims on ft, they will hit the caliper in the front. One of my guys learned this the hard way
