Default Turanza LS-Z

I'm in the market for new tires and these Turanza's seem to be what fit's my needs best (comfort, performance, longevity). However, I've only seen very limited feedback on this forum as well as very few miles reported on tirerack.com. Anybody have any insights?
Thanks,
Scott

Default TOYOTA VAN

I have these tires on my Toyota Van and they are great all-season tires. I have considered them for my 92 SC300. I too am waiting for feedback.

Default These are great tires...

If you are looking for the best combination of ride quality and performance as well as excellent wet traction these are an excellent choice. I recommend these highly. I usually give my customers the option of these vs. the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and let them make the decision on whether they favor ride (LS-Z) or performance (Pilot A/S) IF they had to choose between the 2. Hope this helps.

I just replaced my OE Turanza ER-30 on my GS300 with Turanza LS-Z. As the previous replier noted, I also faced choosing between the Turanza LS-Z and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. The LS-Z is much better than the ER-30. I didn't choose the Pilot because of the potentially harsher ride due to the Pilot's W speed rating. Price wise, there's less than a $10 price difference between the two.

Default Turanza LS-Z

I had my LS-Z's installed last week and they are comming off this week. They are very quiet and provide excellent wet weather traction. However, I feel like I am driving on balloons. I don't have alot of confidence in the car at high speeds or when cornering aggressively. These are a great touring tire, just not a very good performance tire.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the Turanza LS-Z. I suppose tires really are a personal choice. I've had the Turanza LS-Z for 1000 miles now, and I love it. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

Default Turanza LS-Z

Beachboy,

I don't know if you have any handling modifications on your car or not, but I do. I have L-Tuned suspension and Daizen Sways Bars. B/C the suspension has firmed up a bit, every bit of body roll was noticeable to me from the LS-Z's.

I have since replaced the LS-Z's with Bridgestone SO-3's ,and while it's still early, I really like them. They are firm, yet quiet and perform quite well. I realize that these tires are very different and not built for the same thing, so comparing them might not be fair. The Turanza is a great tire- just not right for me.

wineohs -

Since the suspension on your car is highly modified from stock, I agree that the LS-Z is not for you. In your case, I would make my choice from WR rated tires, like the Bridgestone S-03 (as you have chosen) or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.

My car is all stock, and I'm a mid- to fast- driver. The LS-Z performs very well under those conditions.

Good luck on your new tires.
