20s on a GX
No need to photochop anymore! Here they are!
The anticipation is finally over! 20x9.5 HRE 648R full polish with 295/45x20 Pirelli Scorpion Zeros! I'll post better pics later. Just thought I'd share these for now. Thanks to Peter @ www.wheelexperts.com and all at HRE especially Guy. The decision was very tough but I couldn't be happier with the 20s. My GF loves them. I have to say they are perfect. Wide to the flared wheel well and enough sidewall to keep the SUV look and feel and to protect from curbs.

That looks very nice. They match the shape and color of the vehicle well. But can you still run over curbs and not worry about it? And don't say you do not run over curbs....everyone with a truck or suv does.

mr who,
Thanks for the comments. I spent a lot of time choosing the right wheel with the vehicles lines and color in mind. I meant the sidewall is still large enough to protect form curb rash. With a set of HREs, you can be assured that I won't go searching for curbs. I meant, just in case the GF (its hers) happens to curb them.

Looks awesome MAC!
I'm considering getting a GX or the new RX by the end of the year and you just made my decision a lot easier! The style you chose is the exact style I'm considering if I go with HRE's.
BTW, where did you get those tailights?
SoCal- are there going to be larger sizes available for the GX...22's, 23's, etc...?

SoCalSC4,
Thank you. The wheels are simply stunning and compliment the vehicle well. Not overkill, IMO. Also, thanks to Peter @ wheelexperts.com (for your patience in puttng up with the umpteen calls to get "just the right fitment and finish") and Guy @ HRE (for following up on the whole process). I couldn't be happier with the fit and finish.
Day,
Glad to be of assistance in making your decision. Good eye, the taillights were acquired from CL member crazy4cars in Panama. When I saw them on his Landcruiser Prado (the GX counterpart in other countries, I had to have them). A subtle change which, IMO, made a huge difference. A bit of wiring and minor modification to the rear of the housing had to be done to get them to accept the OEM bulb and housing. 22X9.5 or 10s are probably going to be the largest I would recommend on this vehicle. IMO, 20s are perfect. The wheel well design isn't conducive to anything larger, although 22s would fit. 22s would mean a very slim sidewall though, just my opinion. HTH.

Boy! I am truly sold on these. Seems like these 20s are made for GX. Its unbelievable how insignificant the OEM 17s look in front of these.
Howz the ride now? Did it alter the turning circle or passing through corners or the ride comfort? How much does the upgrade cost roughly?
me envy!

GS, remember that? Thanks soooo much for that chop. Now I can replace the background on the computer with the real thing.
jpa, I guess great minds think alike
lexite, Thanks! The ride is silky smooth. You can feel the road a little more but nothing to complain about. I just drove it from our new shop 671 Motorsports (sorry for the plug) home, so I haven't had a chance to "test" it out yet. I'll let you know.
1sick, thank you for the truely inspiring words. HREs BABY!
